LIVE COLLISION INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL presents some of the most daring and beautiful work of our time, and is Ireland’s leading curatorial model of live art. The festival presents artists of exceptional calibre – from seminal international artists who have been making groundbreaking work across the globe to Ireland’s most exciting next-generation of performance makers – all with work never before presented in Ireland.

Welcome to the Live Collision International Festival 2018 line up with exceptional artist with work never before show in Ireland. International icons and seminal artists Split Britches (Peggy Shaw & Lois Weaver) bring their brand new work Unexploded Ordnances (UXO) following it’s international debut to great critical acclaim at La Mama in NYC; ANU productions present FAULTLINE, a work-in-development bringing ANU inside the theatre space and onto the stage for the first time in over 10+ years; the legendary force that is Stacy Makishi brings the second part of her faith based trilogy in the form of THE COMFORTER following its UK debut; Dick Walsh fleshes out his newest work ANOTHER MARCH 13th; the @Trans Live Art Salon are central to the festival with co-curated picks as part of TLAS@LCIF & our closing party All Trans On Decks; Live Art Development Agency curate a selection of short reads from their unique live art archive; new-blood theatre makers Felicity are busy making an epic work; Selina Thompson presents RACE CARDS to propose 1000 questions about Race; Xavier de Sousa presents REGNANT a 4 hours durational long table; Fried Plantains Collective and Change of Address the people behind Black Jam and The Mouth of a Shark, bring you a night of live Afro music and spoke-n-woke performances…and there’s so much more…

The festival programme is interdisciplinary and intergenerational with a desire to engage audiences and artists into closer proximity around urgent and vital subject matters, provocations and experiences. Expect to find a series of DOUBLE BILLS (festival combo offers), OFF-SITE (digital audio work), BITE SIZE SCRATCH (a platform for new works), WHY LIVE ART, WHY NOW? (salons, post-show discussions, artist workshops & podcast) plus BIBLIOTHEQUE // LADA STUDY ROOM (a rare archive representing topics such as feminism, sexuality, disability and race in relation to Live Art practices), TLAS@LCIF (a salon of work co-curated by the Trans Live Art Salon & Collective), two EXPLOSIVE festival parties All Trans on Decks and NU ROOTS and so much more…
